Curriculum Breakdown

Continuous Year-Round Learning Journey

A phased progression from foundational robotics and CAD to competition readiness, capstone execution, and university portfolio preparation.

Phase 1: Foundations (Dec - Feb)

Robotics orientation, climate STEM basics, CAD design, mechanical concepts, and early subsystem development with Python data logging.

Phase 2: Design and Build (Mar - May)

Robot concept design, VR-assisted strategy planning, systems integration, smart agriculture projects, field construction, and formal testing.

Phase 3: Optimization and Competition Prep (Jun - Aug)

Stress testing, autonomous path development, driver training, scouting tools, and final robot readiness for the FIRST Global Challenge.

Phase 4: Capstone and Future Pathways (Sep - Nov)

Capstone project development, innovation showcase preparation, university portfolio support, and final engineering documentation.

The Innovation Academy is a STEM weekend program, executed in partnership with Republic Bank's Power to Make A Difference program, that helps students build skills in technology, innovation, and problem-solving through hands-on learning.

The program was created to provide students in Saint Lucia with stronger STEM opportunities, while helping build a future-ready tech workforce in the region.

The program generally targets students aged 16 and above, but interested learners aged 13+ are welcome to participate.

Students work on real-world projects, build technical capabilities, and strengthen teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills through embedded systems engineering.

Yes. Students receive support with SAT preparation, scholarship guidance, and international university application planning.

Yes. Participants develop ideas, build products, and can access support to enter competitions and hackathons.

The program aims to impact at least 100 students in its first year.

The pilot began in March 2026, and the program is designed to continue on an ongoing basis.
